Disability Awareness Sunday
Sunday 30th August 2026
In Luke 14: 15 - 23 the story is told of a man who organised a great banquet. Many of the people whom he invited could not attend. He then ordered his servant, "Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in people who are poor and who have disabilities. So that my house will be full" (paraphrased).
In following the example of the man in Luke 14, RampUp suggests an annual feast in the church to celebrate the dignity and role of persons with disability. For too long the church has missed out on their participation and belonging in the household.
If this date does not suit your church programme, feel free to choose another date when everyone can participate.
